Our Mission
Jiddisch Jetzt (Yiddish Now) is a campaign dedicated to the recognition of Yiddish as a minority language in Germany.
Yiddish is a living language sustained by grassroots initiatives, artists, scholars, and cultural organizers across Germany, both secular and religious. Yiddish has inherent value for its own sake. This language is the medium of intangible cultural heritage, including literature, music and art, which can be enjoyed by people of any background.
Our Vision
Official recognition is a necessary foundation that would enable Yiddish to develop further as a living language in Germany. We envision a future in which Yiddish is not sustained almost exclusively by volunteers and short-term projects, but receives the long-term institutional support necessary for its continued transmission and development.

Community
A language thrives when people have opportunities to use it in everyday life. Recognition should help strengthen the social infrastructure that allows Yiddish-speaking communities to grow and connect
